Inauguration of Tonnino's Water Treatment Plant
The Tonnino team wants to share its excitement by announcing the inauguration of its New Water Treatment Plant, activity that will take place in March of the present year.
This expansion involved an investment totaling US$7 million, and aside from doubling our water treatment capacity to 1,600 cubic meters per day, it also uses new anaerobic technology that allows us to capture the methane gas coming from the water purification process and use it as combustible. In doing so, we have significantly contributed in the improvement of the purified water´s quality, and have dramatically reduced the purification process´ impact on the environment.
We consider that our Water Treatment Plant is consistent with the goal established by the Costa Rican government of achieving that Costa Rica will become a "carbon neutral country" in the short run. It not only drastically reduces the emission of highly damaging gases in terms of global warming, but also with this important project our company reiterates its corporate decision to protect nature, as it is from Mother Nature that we obtain our most important raw material.
Our production plant is located in El Roble in Puntarenas, Costa Rica, place where our soon-to-be inaugurated Water Treatment Plant will operate.
